1 second at a time...
.
This past weekened we took the new Z out to Darlington Dragway after a few more modifications, prototype SOHO flex fuel kit and an EcuTek Technologies Ltd tune on E30
.
The best time that we could do on the STOCK clutch and FULL Weight was an 11.9 with a 1.78 60 ft
.
This was not the 10 we were looking for, however being able to drop the ET down a full second over stock is a step in the right direction
.
MANUAL Stock 1/4 mile time (pump): 12.90 @ 107 mph
MANUAL SOHO 1/4 mile time (E30): 11.90 @ 118 mph
.
Towards the last few pulls we noticed that the stock clutch was on its way out as it would not allow us to go into gear while going down the track
.
We will upgrade the clutch with a ZSpeedPerformance.com clutch kit, convert over to full E85 and add a few more modifications and go back out

Driver needs to eat more salads.

(Edit): That is some serious squat in the rear, they're probably going to need to reevaluate the whole Tein spring decision. Even better still would be to replace the bushings in the rear diff and subframe.

Adjustable traction arms should be forthcoming.

And it even appears that they're still on the factory Bridgestones.

Drag pack... . The new Z on a set of @workwheelsusa emotion CR Kiwami wheels in the rear and stock performance wheels in the front! . This rear setup includes the @mickeythompsontires ET Streets wrapped around the 18 x 10.5 wheels. . Notice how similar they look to the OEM wheels @nissanusa 👀 . I think 12.9s was their stock run.
11.9s after the mods
I think their stock run included the ET streets from what it sounds like.

Oh that could be true, not sure exactly what they’re considering “stock”

If that’s the case, perhaps the NLS/launch mode on the MTs does better job of managing wheelspin than the autos, so better tire wouldn’t improve much at stock power.
Or maybe driver was just granny shifting, who knows 🤷‍♂️

This was just posted on the Z Facebook group by Jon Parham.

11.64 1/4 on slip.

11.52 1/4 screw up (Red light).

11.55 dragy on the 11.52 1/4 letting off (That hurt).

We took the Z1 Motorsports, Inc. 9AT Z to Silverdollar Raceway this weekend to get baseline 1/4 mile numbers after doing some pretty basic mods. This car has a Z1 Level 1 Tune, Z1 Carbon intake, Z1 single exit exhaust, Z1 Transmission Mount and Mickey Thompson drag radials. The car did awesome the entire day and ran mid 11's consistently after getting used to the car. The factory launch control didn't love us, so every run started with a bit of brake boosting. Overall, this is a pretty clear indicator that the car has a lot of potential when you get a good tire on it. We'll be going back soon after making a few changes so stay tuned.

This car has full interior to represent you just pulling up at the track with your Z1 upgrades, a good tire and hammering it (410-420whp). Pics by Noir.TM

All said, we had a great time with friends and family while meeting new people that loved the Z.

Nissan and the dealers charging over MSRP, please cut a sponsor check to Z1 Motorsports for being a brand ambassador.

Watkins Glen grey metallic C7Z is my jam.

I'm wondering why these ETs are so slow. The auto is supposed to be a lot faster than the manual but is still only running mid 11s with all these mods PLUS drag radials. 60' is a bit slower than I thought it would be (expected at least low 1.6x), but they did say launch control was being weird.
