    2024 Performance Bose Premium appears to have a passive sub woofer. There is no enclosed amp and only four (4) signal wires in the plug; red, green, white, black.

    The Bose subwoofer is in fact 2 tiny speakers (approx. 4") and an amplifier, all in a 12" enclosure, with a 6 pin connector. The wires must be for the signals and the power.
