My guess continues to be that the outgoing gen of vehicles will be my last favored. Zooming way out, there was the first Model T flavor, 30's/40's, 50's/60's, 70's, 80's, 90's-now, and feels like everything changing to distinct rounded, electric look.
I don't disagree with any of those points. And realize analog gauges are a thing of the past (I was ecstatic to find them still available when ordering my '22 truck). Like I said, purely aesthetic, with 3D movement of physical gauges being more pleasant to my eyes. But. I also still love my old...
For those who remember Click and Clack, they had a caller ask this question once, and they were basically like, unless you're red-lining it out of the garage, in dead of winter, you're fine, it's just a remnant misunderstanding, from carbureted engines needing time re mixture, not oil...
Wow. I've actually never seen one in the wild. The town I'm in, see a smattering of Lambo and Ferrari, tons of Maserati and Porsche and the usual suspects, but never seen a Z.
For those who have it, is it a nice option? In hindsight, would you go out of your way to get it again?
I have yet to see a single listing online for a Z specifically including it. Is it that uncommon, or do listings maybe just exclude mention?
Thanks!!
Would be nice to find one here in state yeah. The local dealership still has them at full MSRP, and claim to sell the most Z's in TN. Would love to just work with them, but kinda blown away they're still moving vehicles when dealerships within easy drive are listing at 10k less..
The lowest gun metal 6M Performance I'm seeing anywhere is 44k in Palm Beach (essentially the color my 86 300ZX was, need this one to be same lol). Which, still ain't bad at all..
Wow... 40k would be very difficult to pass up, if right color/options, I may look that up. Had set max radius at 500mi, but that would be worth it. I'd be willing to just rent a trailer for a day or two and pull it home, or grab a flight.
I lived in WA for a bit. Yeah, it can be spendy out there.
It's absurd that you got that ride at 44k.. That's awesome. With you on rates, I don't see them going any higher, and wouldn't be surprised to see them notch down this year, all else staying equal yep. Dealer quoted me 2.9 this week, which, isn't bad. I'm squirming to grab a 2024, just nowhere...
With ya, re Ford. I test drove one before ordering mine with the analog cluster, and was like, yeah, this isn't gonna work for me. That, and them PAYING me $50 to delete the start/stop was a nice day.
Purely aesthetic. I agree the screen on the Z is less iPad-ish than other cars I've driven, and they did it well, far as it goes, I just prefer physical gauges behind the wheel. Something akin to those into watches, I guess, with a well designed analog face, applied indices (instead of printed)...
I know I'll take flak for even posting this, but anyone ever converted the digital cluster to a set of analog gauges? Or is that even possible?? I specifically bought the lower trim of my current truck to get the physical, analog gauges, and have just optioned up and mod'd everything else. But...
Do you have the cover offered from Nissan, @AlanZ ? I'd maybe be willing to do something like this short term anyway, to grab a 24 at discount prices. Maybe. I'm pretty particular/OCD on auto care. Current truck has never lived a night outside garage, and wouldnt want a fair lady to be out in...
My gut is, 2025 could be the last z, yeah, with restructuring. Or if brought back, could be a hybrid/EV, for next gen. Lot culminating, for sure.
I've wanted to buy a new one off lot since selling my 86 300ZX, lot of years ago, and don't want to miss opportunity. Liked the 370, love the Z.
As a prospective buyer, def appreciate this post. If true, would this suggest all available 2025's are already in country (or in route), and that dealers will not be replenished with anything beyond orders already placed/being fulfilled? And that 2025 Z's will likely not be available to...
FWIW, I asked salesman today, while checking out a couple of Z's, and he claims Nissan has rejected an offer by Honda, and is no longer actively seeking capital for rescue. Says they'll continue to restructure, and navigate things internally as it makes sense.
He had no further info on timing...
