Truth. The new mustang gt350 and camaro are both very heavy cars but a combination of superior brakes, tires and suspension make for some pretty impressive track times. It's really all the new tech and safety requirements every car gets nowadays. Let's hope the Z doesn't go full digital and come...
Companies do it all the time tho to justify higher price tags and/or higher models in the lineup. The Cayman/Boxster has always been purposely held back so it doesn't step on the 911's toes. But then again we're talking about two differently branded cars (Nissan vs Infiniti) so maybe there isn't...
Best Car magazine in Japan supposedly reporting that there could be a RWD Nissan coupe appearing at Tokyo auto show. Could this be the next Z?
Getting a bit confused with all these rumors which mix the IDX, Z, and now this "Nissan coupe" car. They all talking about the same car?
Article --...
How down market are we talking? Compete with the likes of the Genesis coupe or the FRS/BRZ? Those are fun little drivers cars but not what I am looking for. Once you get past the zippiness, you immeditaely feel how underpowered they are.
Thinking about the Subaru BRZ and then going bonkers on the mods once warranty is up... a supercharger is definitely needed on that car but I figure it should be fun enough as a slower pace driver's kind of car for a few years.
IMO I am hoping for more changes to the design than that ^ .....it's been so many years, they need to come out with something truly exciting and new, otherwise people will just think it is the same old Z.
Nope :(
What's up next? Chicago? I'm starting to question whether there really is a Z redesign coming. There hasn't been a single leak or spy photo etc.
I welcome this! Especially a cheap 4 cyl version. Just use the 1.6L turbo from the Juke NISMO RS. Good for 215 horsepower and 210 lb-ft. That's plenty enough for an entry level model assuming that the car gets smaller and loses weight.
Yea but the hybrid electric cars that are great performing are all $100k+ and some of those are close to a million even. There's yet to be an affordable hybrid sports electric that is any good.
Dude if they price the Z35 at $50k it will flop even worse than the 370Z unless it has some kind of crazy good performance specs! They have to keep the Z35 low-mid $30k and if they make an entry car like the IDX concept that should be around $20k.
One of them that you can count is the FR-S/BRZ which weighs 2800 pounds and is virtually the same exact length of the 370Z. So it's actually possible to hit that kind of weight even if the Z doesn't get downsized.
They produced the 350z for 6 years so if they stick to the same model life for the 370z (started in 2009) that means it stops production in 2015.
So if Nissan doesn't want a gap for any Z car that means we should see something next year or 2016! Where's those spy picsa already? :D
