From what I gather from the article, the Z performed the worst in the handling department. So it looks like better tires and coilovers will be needed right off the bat.
I hope it's just a preproduction thing. However, I doubt EcuTek can get rid of the "Ice Mode" issue or the slow steering. The shitty thing is it puts a doubt on the car I was longing to get.
No one should sleep on this video. This actually raises some serious drivability issues for me. As an autocrosser or to anyone wanting to push the car to the limit, the Z sounds seriously handicapped.
14:13 - Power cut when braking, no left foot braking. If I'm not at the limiter, I should...
I'm not too surprised on the Performance model price. $52k USD was my breaking point and it's just under. I am shocked how low the Sport model price is. A lot of value for that one. However, I wonder if it will be scarce like how the Base GR Supra 3.0 is. A year and a half ago I was on the...
Agreed. Width is one thing, but unless they lowered pressure and/or increase tire load (we know the new Z is heavier), not sure how the contact patch could increase as they state.
Albon: Typically has a great back stories of cars, explaining it's relevance.
Savagegeese: They usually touch on the technical side I love like weights, suspension nuances, and how the car handles.
Engineering Explained: Love learning about new innovations in new cars, although, there may not be...
I know right? I've seen on Motortrend and a youtube video where the Supra 3.0 actually measured 3300-3350lbs. So It could be worse at around 250-300lbs heavier. Come on Nissan!
Hmm, kinda looks like the majority was put on front. I'm not liking that weight distribution, ugh!
Nissan Z Sport (MT)
Front weight: 1991
Rear weight: 1495
Weight Bias: 57.1% Front/42.9% Rear
Nissan Z Sport (AT)
Front weight: 2041
Rear weight: 1508
Weight Bias: 57.5% Front/42.5% Rear
Nissan...
I initially disliked the front grill immensely. But after seeing it in person at the Sema show, that changed my mind a bit. Still not 100% on board.
But after seeing the customized proto from TAS, I knew they could do so much better. I hope this bumper is available in the future.
Great...
Agree on the Type R. Was in the market to buy one when they came out, but I don't believe in paying mark ups. I figured the mark ups will eventually go away once the hype has died down and more of them are on the road. 5 years later the mark ups for the Type R are still strong as ever. I've...
Motortrend's curb weight measurement for the 2021 Supra 3.0 Premium is 3304lbs. Hopefully the weight specs we are seeing for the Z are also on the high side compared to actual weights.

Sorry didn't see there was tabs. I want to get more excited but just don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed. 40k 400hp Z is unbelievably good value!
I just skimmed through the press release link you posted. Is there anywhere that specifically says both sport and performance trims get the 400hp engine?
It would be awesome if Nissan released the Z with that powertrain for only $40K. It just sounds unrealistic and too good to be true.
That same Motoman video also has Albaisa saying there will be models with different levels of power. 400hp and a lesser version. He also admits this is the case for the US market.
Since the Q60 has 2 power variants 300hp and 400hp Red Sport, I'm speculating this will be the same for the Z. This...
