I quite clearly understand consumerism and Capitalism. If the market continues to dictate, then why would the dealers not charge the inflated prices? An item is always worth what someone is willing to pay for it, not an arbitrary number that the manufacturer dictates.

Agreed. I bought my last Volvo (XC40) through the care by volvo program which was basically direct from Manufacturer. Dealer was involved for processing and was given a nominal fee for filling out paperwork.
