The last communication from Nissan Canada (a few weeks ago) said that those of us that pre-ordered from our dealership would receive emails once our car went into production and we would then get notification as it progressed through the build/ship process. But, now we're seeing cars just...
I agree. It's also odd because when you look the VIN numbers that are out there, there seem to be a lot of cars that were produced but there's no sign of them on the actual roads except for the few that you mentioned above.
I get that they are probably being inundated with inquiries but this...
So, I decided to DM NissanCanada about the latest status of Canadian deliveries. Ummm... this is their reply:
Due to ongoing industry-wide supply-chain shortages, the delivery of vehicles has been delayed. Our team is monitoring the global situation closely. At this time, Nissan is currently...
I don't have any further updates. The comments you heard from Nissan Toronto are consistent with what my dealer told me in early August -- namely, that there may be some Proto's arriving in September that are independent/separate from the online orders. It's too bad we don't have any spies at...
Well....I decided to send Nissan Canada a DM. This is what I got back. Looks like we Canadians are going to have to wait even longer than "summer". I get the sense that our Zs will follow the phase 2 US launch process. Meaning, Canada won't get any protos but our first Z's (ie the ones ordered...
Looks like Nissan Canada is getting their website ready for something (??) There are two Z's listed on the sports car page.... Maybe that second icon will be the Canadian builder?
I'm driving the 6MT F-type and seriously considering the Z. The specs of the two cars are actually very close -- but I still think the F-type is a better looking car. Pricing wise, a used low mileage 2018 or 2019 F-type 6MT will likely cost you the same as the new Z.
Got a bit of an update from my dealership. He said that the first batch of Canadian Z’s are expected to be at the port in Vancouver this month with deliveries in late August or September. The odd thing he said is that it isn’t clear whether that first batch will be spec orders or just a bunch of...
On the FB forum, the Americans are saying that the Proto will go live in the US on Aug 9th (ie next week!). Only 240 Protos spread out across the USA to start. Yet, there's no sign of the Z's for Canada???
Facebook Z Forum
There was a FB post on the Z forum about the prospect that US dealerships could be selling live as of August 9. If (and that's a big IF) that's true, we shouldn't be that far behind???
Not sure if folks have seen the latest pics of a truckload of Z's arriving in Puerto Rico -- is it possible that we'll see the same thing happen in Canada? I have assumed that my dealership would know when my pre-ordered car was being built and shipped. Maybe Nissan isn't doing that?
100% agree. My dealer sent me pics and a video of the car that showed up at their dealership. I was thinking, thanks but your iPhone pics/video are nothing compared to the hours of reviews I've watched online. Truth is, I nearly had a heart attack just seeing that I got an email from the...
My thinking was that they engaged in the Canadian pre-order process before they fully appreciated the demand for the Z both in Canada and the US. I suspect they also encountered additional supply chain issues since the pre-ordering process. Now that they're faced with a limited number of LHD...
I'd be curious if your dealer has any intel about the allocation announcement in the US yesterday and whether that has any application to Canada. I'm in the same position as you -- preordered in February -- but I'm starting to get nervous that perhaps Nissan Canada will do the same thing they...
