Yes I know how NISMO labels it but it is NOT a strut tower brace, it is a shock tower brace.
A strut suspension is a cheap suspension, production cost-saving, with the tower itself is structurally load-bearing. That is a completely different design from what we have and we should be glad for it...
Yes, we all really wanted to see this test performed on a Nismo vs Supra. This is exactly the comparison that was needed . Same track, same day, same track conditions, same weather, same drivers. That''s what is needed and it's the only test with a fair comparison.
I knew they made the Ariya too... I don't know if it's on the same physical assembly line or parts of the same line. That's technically possible. Also whether the Ariya uses the same new paint process or not.
Nissan needs this problem fixed since they also need to make as many Skylines and...
Really pathetic. Is this low production solely due to the paint shop difficulties? Surely they need to build more - this, the Skyline and the Q50 can hardly keep those workers gainfully engaged.
Unfortunately missing the Nismo Z's 6-piston front brakes. They should be a direct bolt-on.
I'd like to see the part #s for those brakes.. I will buy them and see how they work on my Q50S Red Sport 400.
Notice that the specs released to the press today says the front calipers are only 4-piston. What happened to 6? Yes, the rotors are slightly larger.
And the calipers are larger on the press cars we saw. Press dept. is pretty poor... I expected a lot more detail on the differences - for...
I used to instruct at a big yearly SupraTT gathering on a very fast track, plus drive one of a friends for 2 years. It was indestructible in the super high temps here. A nearly perfect car because it was so well engineered.
"Over" engineered isn't the right word - right-engineered is because it...
Well... as a HPDE instructor for almost 30 years, I've dealt with a lot of the worst and only rarely have had the best. I appreciate the Mustang because Ford finally has built a track car that has appropriate cooking for the track - **if and only if** properly optioned you get extra engine...
It's actually pathetic. And Nissan itself overall is in really bad shape: the quarterly sales results for the U.S. just came out today and Nissan and Inifiniti sold only 244k cars, SUVs and trucks - with a lineup of 17 products and 7 Infinitis.
Sure, a 33% quarter-to-quarter increase over last...
Unless they fix the paint problem at the assembly plant, we'll never see any of these either.
And should one make it on the boat, a minimum of 10k add-on is guaranteed. Be prepared for 70k out-the-door.
Yes, the company that that treats engine bearings as a maint item. 1st replacement shortly after you buy the car, then around at 50k you get another set. Same time you get the vanos replaced.
No kidding... try buy a V10 M5 and this is what you get.
300 HP and 295 torque out of that hugely sophisticated and expensive-to build-engine? Ridiculous. Even the full version only makes 350 torque, which is really poor.
Nor does Nissan have a worthy turbo 4 to use. Bizarre variable displacement doesn't do a single thing for emissions, drivability or...
Styling doesn't matter... it's the mechanical and electronics engineering. And this obvious mule has larger brakes up front, but not in the back. I'd personally rather see Brembos at all 4 corners (because I've personally worn the heck our of Akebono calipers on track, and irritatingly the front...
There goes the morning, watching videos! Thanks admin for a single thread of them all!
Remember that these are press cars (and all that means), and that straight line is not all there is to performance, in fact not very much.
What's needed is a comparison road course test of production line...
