    The Z dyno thread

The torque curve on this graph looks as if this is about the max the stock setup can push before choking and requiring supporting upgrades. The Z with the 109 tune also had upgraded LDPs, and I believe it was stated the only reason they tuned on 109 initially was so they could benchmark safely...

    The Z dyno thread

The AMS post states this tune was on 93. The 109 tune was a previous run with a non-Proto.

Why the 2023 Nissan Z exhaust is so "quiet"

Well Nissan’s decisions is puzzling, because they actually employ two of those tactics but, exclusive to transmission choice. The manual gets a “muted” exhaust but the auto gets an active one. I think the thought was it’s only featured in the ATs because it’s actuated by the “sport” mode that...

    Australian Z Reviews are Live!

Right technically a different “Z” 😕 Hopefully they’ll offer a Z badged key later on. For me personally, I’d just swap it into one of the 370Z fob shells I already have, at least until something better is offered.

    Australian Z Reviews are Live!

Why not just buy the shell with the Z logo online n put the new key inside? If it’s literally the same fob they’ve been using for decades now it should fit

Seibon has Carbon Fiber Body Panels for 2023 Nissan Z

Sounds like a safe bet unfortunately. Though for me, that VS hood looks like might just be worth it 😯

Ecutek Tune Level 1 (BASE) Results Completely Stock VR30 Tune = 417 WHP / 474 WTQ

Probably much cheaper than buying a “real” Red Sport. Even though lesser trims are essentially just detuned from the factory, having a stock car that can generate these gains from just a tune is incredible. Especially when compared to the previous VQ37 which would cost over 10 grand to see...

Ecutek Tune Level 1 (BASE) Results Completely Stock VR30 Tune = 417 WHP / 474 WTQ

Easy to miss in the Insta post comment, but this graph is of a Infiniti Q with the 300hp variant of the VR30, hence the huge gains with stock parts. From the recent dyno graphs of the Z, sounds like this equates to +30-40hp / +90-100ftlb, which is still pretty impressive 😯

    🙌 Delivery!! I’m picking up a Z Proto 6spd

Dang, that’s a perfect addition, ya got a 240Z, a 300ZX n now a new Z that pays homage to both, what a fleet.. 😌 Congrats man! She’s a beaut n at great price too (all things considered), that’s gotta feel great 😁 Hopefully this means we’ll start seeing more new Z owners around here 😅

Seibon has Carbon Fiber Body Panels for 2023 Nissan Z

I think 🤔 the new Z is already using lightweight aluminum for all these parts like the 370Z has. So in that case, sadly not much weight savings to be had 😔, presuming these are “wet” CF pieces.

Disappointment with the New 2023 Z???

I’m having a hard time putting much stock in these stat comparisons due to all the variation between reviewers. Similar to the variation in dyno outputs, we've now seen MT report a 12.9s @ 107mph quarter mile, while C&D previously reported 12.6s @ 115mph, and as low as 12.3s @ 116mph from...

Anyone gonna replace any gauges on their z?

Nice 👍🏻 sounds like good alternative to buying CF trim pieces

Anyone gonna replace any gauges on their z?

Oh nice, never even considered hydrodipping, howd they turn out? I believe the hats, bezels, n gauge faces can still be easily removed from the top, it’s the electronics behind them that require the dash to come out if trying to swap in custom gauges.

Anyone gonna replace any gauges on their z?

If the triple gauge pod is also carryover from the 370Z, yeh they’re all built onto the same PCB underneath the dash, if ya want to replace em they all gotta go (which makes the fact they look separate infuriating 😓) And the only way to remove without destroying them is to take the whole dash...

    $$$ the economy thread $$$

I’ve always though that could be a good system too, not necessarily “free tuition” but one where the government provides funding for degree programs (particularly for those that are necessary and in demand) and then establishes a reasonable repayment schedule based on the earning potential of...

    $$$ the economy thread $$$

Student loan forgiveness is a bandaid to the real issue that is the enormous cost of tuition & education; It’s essentially just shifting the financial burden to a different economical arena. And while it’s tempting to pluck the low hanging fruit that is “this generation doesn’t have work...

Z1 Unveils New Touring Exhaust For 2023 Nissan Z

I’m not suspension expert, but these don’t “flex” in the way I think you’re imagining. Sway bars are essentially torsional springs that twist along a horizontal axis when the vehicle turns rather than bend. They shouldn’t affect ride quality, as they work to prevent excessive body roll during...

Stripe package for the new Z

I’ve seen the Passion Red on a neighbors Q60 and it’s really stunning in person; gonna be great option 👍🏻. Haven’t seen Rosewood in person but I think that definitely be the color I’d swap for an 🍊 lol (sorry to any Rosewood fans) Black roof fits pretty well I think but Id agree with the...

Stripe package for the new Z

Could go either way for stripes, what I really want is that orange paint, or any orange paint option for that matter lol Preferably a Magma Red comeback (technically a red but always looked like more of an orange to me), best Z color IMO 😍

Savagegeese pits the 2023 Nissan Z vs Supra

Aside from cost, is there any good reason why his team would switch to the VR30 anyway if they already have a solid VR38 build? I’m sure the aftermarket will get the Z’s motor into big power territory eventually but its essentially a lower potential, weaker derivative of its “big brother”
