I am in the same boat as you. In the research phase and looking at adding some more oomph.
2) I went with 2.5" exhaust, I felt that 3" exhaust was overkill unless I was doing an all out build. I'll be honest and say I feel like I lost a little low end torque but picked up some mid range power...
I did the swap to JDM side markers. It was super simple, pried them out oh so carefully with a plastic pry tool.
Then I unplugged the OEM side markers (they have the bulbs built in to them), taped off and secured the connectors, and popped in the clears.
I've had them installed for a few...
Sorry for the delayed response, but here is a photo of how I have adjusted the audio settings. You can adjust the balance +1 F to have the sound come from the sides instead of being rear biased depending on your preference.
My reference song was Me and Your Mama - Childish Gambino at the volume...
I hear you, but I'm just suggesting for those that want a little more oomph or think that bass is lacking that it makes a big difference when you alter the fade/balance to the rear. Again, idk the technical talk for sound, but it's almost like the sub in the back isn't activated with the stock...
Originally, I felt the same about the Bose system in the car, but I found after messing with the adjustments that it sounds better and more to my liking.
I listen to rap/hip-hop, R&B, and rock/alternative.
Idk the technical jargon, but what I did was Bass +3/4 (I like the boom), tremble +2...
Thank you so much brother! Yes, I got the full cat back! Did you have any issues with fitment? I noticed my passenger side sticks out maybe a 1/4 inch more. I have an appointment scheduled to see if it can be adjusted for better fitment, but I do love the way it sounds.
Just got the full Tomei exhaust installed, so far sounds good. Tame while cruising, noticeable noises when I accelerate, and no rasp. Not as loud as I thought it would be. Definitely looks better than stock and fills out the bumper nicely. 10/10 will try again.
