But MT probably visited the proving grounds to see the Z prototype sometime recent, and at well into the pandemic period. So maybe it can be assumed that the Spring 2021 estimate already factors the pandemic delays so far?

I think the manual is going to help sell the Z. I know from following the Supra MKV forum that a lot of interested people bailed once Toyota announced it was auto only. And I agree that they'll have to undercut the Supra with the 400Z pricing. Even if people don't...
I love the light gray / chalk looking color! Totally sets off the black roof without having to go full white on the body.
And did anyone immediately think 300zx when seeing this dark gray rear 400z image?
Seems the square mouth is the biggest universal criticism so far. I think they can easily improve on it by breaking up that huge gaping rectangular black area by adding some canndards or fins extending inwards from the sides of the air inlet. Maybe someone can photoshop that.
I don't mind a little parts bin recycling as long as they're not major panels or features. Those things you mentioned are cool with me. The 400Z's overall design is more than worthy of a different model name than the 370Z.
The completely rectangle mouth though is one exterior styling element...
Ah was hoping that some official Nissan rep had recently mentioned timing.
And yea I wouldn't be surprised if we don't find out a lot tomorrow. Plus they usually don't announce production dates at these reveals.
But maybe they'll mention or flash on screen a "Arrives 202X" or something.
